About Bordeaux

The city of Bordeaux has it all. Many refer to it as a smaller and more intimate version of Paris. What strikes many visitors upon their arrival is the grand 18th century architecture which inspired the design of modern day Paris. These noble facades are home to countless cafés, restaurants and artisans of all types from chocolatiers to silk scarf makers as well as luxury brands such as Hermès, Louis Vuitton and Cartier. Bordeaux has been an important stop on global trading routes since roman times but today the warehouses which once lined the city’s riverfront have given way to a vibrant waterfront of eateries, markets and the stunning Mirror d’Eau which was designed to capture and enhance the beauty of Bordeaux’s crown jewel, Place de la Bourse. The region’s vineyards surround the city so while you’re here you can easily enjoy a drive out to the wineries to enjoy some of what Bordeaux is best known for – its wine.
