In 2003, Régine Roux created the Association "Estivales de Musique en Médoc". Driven by the ambition to discover the most promising talents in classical music, she imagined the festival where the most prestigious wine estates in Médoc serve as a showcase for the artists as exceptional as the wine produced. Today, the festival is recognized as a springboard for these talented young artists.

Along the route, the runners will indulge themselves in oysters, steak and many different wines amongst other delicacies. Running a full 26 miles on rich food and wine might not sound like a great idea and it is for this very reason that this is the most heavily medically supervised marathon on the world, and one of the most fun to watch!

Harvest / Les Vendanges

One could argue that the annual schedule of the Bordeaux region revolves around the harvesting of the region’s most precious product, the grapes. For several weeks, the usually quiet vineyards of Bordeaux burst into a hive of activity during the harvest. The bounty of another year’s worth of hard work and dedication are gathered and sorted before the vinification process begins. These days, if you’re lucky and you plan far enough ahead in advance, you can take part in the harvest and witness this fascinating centuries-old process firsthand.
